Firstly, know that it's not abnormal to lose 100 hairs a day. It's
completely normal, as experts have said. It only becomes a little more
serious in case you’re losing way more than 100 hairs a day. But you cannot
count them and definitely, you are not the only one with this problem. There
are many reasons behind hair loss and change of hormones, underlying medical
problems or use or any new medicine can be one of them. Or there might be no
reason at all, other than it might just be due to heredity.
According to research, through proper medications or surgical treatments,
depending on the reason or the cause, hair loss can be slowed down or even
stop completely. Changes in lifestyle can also contribute to less stress and
gradually less hair fall.
Reduce stress:
Stressed? Definitely a big reason for hair fall, try to relax. Walking, practicing meditation or yoga can help you reduce your high-stress levels. Try to make a list of stuff that you mainly stress about and then sort them out. Hair fall due to stress is not permanent, they can regrow if you do not stress a lot.
Treat your hair well:
Try not to tie your hair very tightly, as in while making buns, ponytails or braids. Excessive pulling, rubbing, or twisting of hair can also result in breakage. Do not use hot water to wash your hair, take warm water instead. And don’t brush them while they’re wet as the follicles are weak already. Try switching to a wide-toothed comb. Styling your hair a lot by using hot rollers, straighteners, or curling irons can damage them a lot. Even using hot oil treatments and permanents can result in some devastating results later.
Drink a lot of water:
Do you know what your hair shaft consists of 25% of water? That simply means drinking enough water can make your hair healthy, which is eight cups of water per day. Stay hydrated and make your hair grow healthier.
Use of herbs in your diet:
One important herb named sage is considered to play a vital role in increasing your hair density. There is this another essential herb named rosemary which efficiently stimulates your hair growth. These can be added to your diet and you can easily cook with these both herbs. Buy fresh ones, use them weekly and you will see a noticeable change in your hair. Maintaining a nutritional and healthy diet can prevent hair loss. Another use of rosemary is that it can be mixed with coconut oil and is to be applied onto the scalp in bald areas.
Make a garlic and coconut oil concoction:
Garlic is considered to be rich in sulfur content that plays an important role in regrowth of hair. On the other hand, coconut oil consists of all the widely needed substances such as minerals, proteins and fats that reduce hair fall and breakage. Together they work like magic and you get that beautiful hair back.
Massaging some Jojoba oil into your scalp:
Jojoba oil has anti-inflammatory characteristics. Rubbing some jojoba oil into your scalp and hair, especially on the affected areas will do the work. This oil can be found almost in all grocery stores.
Taking a supplement:
The compound that is used to make the peppers hot is called capsaicin. It is shown in studies and research that this compound stimulates hair growth. Taking the 6mg supplement for five months daily with food or adding it into your diet can cause the stimulation process. But in some cases, it is not considered very effective.
Take medications:
Two drugs widely used to fight against your hair loss are Minoxidil and Finasteride. These are approved drugs from the FDA. Minoxidil is in liquid or foam, is a non-prescription drug and used mainly for women with hair loss. Still, both the genders can benefit from it. While the other drug is prescribed only for men. Take a pill daily and you will notice a gradual decrease in hair loss and increased hair growth. But only a continued use of these is needed for lasting effects.
Onion juice scalp treatment for hair-regrowth:
Onion juice might sound a bit weird of a remedy to apply to scalp but it works wonders. It helps by increasing the enzyme catalase which helps in boosting hair regrowth, and moreover it also makes hair shinier and reduces hair thinning. Apply onion juice to scalp twice a week and wash after 2 hours using a mild shampoo.
Hair care for coloured hair:
Coloured hair are sensitive and more prone to damage, so you have to take a few extra precautions when you have coloured hair. Firstly, limit the number of hair washes involving shampoo (shampooing twice a week is good enough or max thrice a week) and try to use sulfate free or if you can find chemical free shampoo thats perfect. Furthermore, avoid heating your hair by any sort of means and finally use organic hair masks to provide nourishment to your hair.
